Given the Milwaukee Brewers’ financial limitations, they likely have no chance at any of these five free agents this winter.
As we all know, the Milwaukee Brewers were one game shy of reaching the World Series for the first time since 1982. It would have also marked the first time they made the ultimate series as a member of the National League. Unfortunately, Milwaukee was just a piece or two short of obtaining their goal.
The good news is Milwaukee’s core is returning for 2019 and the team should be better than ever. Ownership has also proven they are willing to pay when it’s smart money to players who will make them better. That’s great news for one of the smallest market teams in Major League Baseball.
Unfortunately, no matter how much ownership is willing to spend, they always have their limit. That’s life for the majority of teams outside of the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers and a few other select clubs.
So even though the Brewers’ payroll will likely take another step forward in 2019, these five players are certainly off the table, as they will completely break the bank.
