Jesus Aguilar delivered his third huge hit of the night, and the Milwaukee Brewers are three outs away from forcing Game 7 in the National League Championship Series.
With Rich Hill on in relief, Lorenzo Cain led off the inning with a line single over shortstop. Christian Yelich drew a walk, but Hill came back to strike out Ryan Braun on a slow curveball.
Hernan Perez batted for Travis Shaw and grounded what should have been an inning-ending double play, but second baseman Brian Dozier mishandled the ball trying to get it out of his glove for the relay throw. That brought up Aguilar, who doubled in two runs in the first and doubled and scored a huge insurance run in the eight.
Aguilar lined a single to right-center, scoring Cain from third.
All three of Aguilar’s hits Friday night went to right field.
