Cody Bellinger’s line single through a shifted infield scored Manny Machado from second and gave the Los Angeles Dodgers a 2-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers Tuesday night to even the National League Championship Series at 2-2.
Junior Guerra allowed a one-out, broken bat single to Machado in the 13th inning. He advanced to second on a two-out wild pitch to set up Bellinger’s game-winner.
Bellinger also made a great defensive play in the 10th inning, racing to his right and making a diving catch of Lorenzo Cain’s bid for extra bases.
Game 5 is set for 4 p.m. Central Time Wednesday afternoon.
Guerra had retired 10 straight batters before Machado’s hit.
Wade Miley will start for the Brewers against Clayton Kershaw.
It is now a best-of-three series, with Game 5 in Los Angeles and Games 6 and 7 scheduled for Milwaukee on Friday and Saturday.
