Jhoulys Chacin has shut out the Dodgers on two hits through three innings, as the Milwaukee Brewers hold a 1-0 lead on Ryan Braun’s first-inning double.
Braun followed a walk to Christian Yelich with a double to the left-field corner that brought Yelich all the way around.
Chacin found trouble in the second inning, on a single by Machado, who was erased on a fielder’s choice by Cody Bellinger. Yasiel Puig’s double to left put runners on second and third with one out, but Chacin struck out Yasmani Grandal and pitcher Walker Buehler.
Braun’s double was the Brewers’ only hit until Mike Moustakas ripped a two-out single in the fourth inning.
Chacin got some fourth-inning help when Machado was called for interference on a slide at second base, leading to Bellinger being called out.
