Milwaukee Brewers connected with Kluber and Tulowitzki

There haven’t been many moves, but there have been a lot of rumors. Mike and Sam talk about the latest Milwaukee Brewers rumor, prospect news, and more.

This week on Dairyland Talk, Mike and Sam go over the latest buzz that is revolved around the Milwaukee Brewers. There have been a lot of rumors going around involving the rumors, but no big moves have been made just yet for the Crew.

The one move that was made was on the last day of the Winter Meetings. The Brewers traded a 2019 draft pick for left-handed relief pitcher Alex Claudio from the Rangers. The trade was an under the radar move and a “typical Stearns” move that could make a huge impact for the team. This bolsters the already impressive bullpen and the Brewers add another lefty after losing Dan Jennings and Xavier Cedeno this offseason.

Monday was a sad day. The Texas Rangers signed fan favorite Tim Dillard to a deal and fans were in disbelief. Dillard was in the organization for 16 years and he was known for his famous videos that he put on on social media. He may be gone this season, but something tells me this won’t be the last time we’ll see him in Milwaukee. Best of luck to him in 2019.

When it came to rumors, there were a few that stood out. It was reported by Jon Morosi that the Brewers are one of the teams that are in on former Cy Young award winner, Corey Kluber. The Indians have been trying to trade both Kluber and Trevor Bauer this offseason and both of them could bring in a big haul for the Tribe.

Another interesting note is that the Brewers sent three scouts to check out recently released shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, according to Robert Murray. Tulo is in a tough situation going into free agency. The injury bug has caught him throughout his career and he didn’t play at all in 2018. But if the Brewers do end up signing him, he may be an option to play second base and he would most likely get a veterans minimum deal. Something to look out for in the coming weeks.

Also this week, Baseball America announced their Brewers top prospects list. No surprise that Keston Hiura is number one and he is also on the front of the Baseball America magazine as well. It’s a big honor for the young second baseman and hopefully, we’ll see him at Miller Park in the near future.
