Milwaukee Brewers sign Burch Smith to a minor league contract

The Milwaukee Brewers announced that they have signed RHP Burch Smith to a insignificant-league agreement with an invite to Big League camp.

Smith has only pitched in parts of two Big League seasons. The very first was in 2013 with the San Diego Padres, and then again in 2018 with the Kansas City Royals. All over his job, Smith has a 6.77 Period in 114.1 IP with a 9.7 K/9 and a 4.8 BB/9.

Smith is a fastball, curveball, changeup pitcher. Final season, he averaged 93 mph with his fastball. No distinct pitch of his is a standout, and you may well assume with a person who has a job Period above six, but the Brewers of course see prospective in his profile.

At very minimum, the shortly-to-be 29-yr-previous will serve as good depth in the minors with no getting up a 40-male place.
