The Milwaukee Brewers released the first installments of a new free digital series Wednesday called “Brewers on Tap,” hosted by Sophia Minnaert, designed to go behind the scenes with the club “through unique and comprehensive reporting on players, staff, operations and the organization’s involvement in the community.”
Episodes will be available at Brewers.com and on the club’s YouTube channel, and the first two have already been released. One follows reliever Josh Hader at a clay-shooting range, and the other recaps the memorable 2018 season with general manager David Stearns.
New episodes will be available periodically throughout the year and will fall into five categories:
Unfiltered — Behind-the-scenes footage with players. Another episode will feature Minnaert spending the day with Zach Davies at his home in Arizona.
Beyond the Bases — Focusing on non-uniformed personnel, such as grounds crew, ushers, equipment staff or scouts. An upcoming episode will travel to the Winter Meetings, and another will follow construction of the new spring-training facility in Arizona.
What’s Brewing — Highlighting top prospects at various levels in the farm system, including the Dominican Baseball Academy.
Classic Brews — Focusing on Brewers alumni, including an upcoming episode with Geoff Jenkins.
Crew in the Community — Following the Brewers Community Foundation and its impact in Milwaukee.
The Brewers’ in-house video team has already produced a number of memorable projects, including a spoof of “The Sandlot” that went viral last spring.
