A piece of Brewers history, and a former manager, hang from the ceiling of a West Milwaukee bar.
Harvey Kuenn’s prosthetic leg has been there as long as customers can remember. Kuenn managed the Brewers to a World Series appearance in 1982.
He died in 1988 and employees said that there are two stories behind how 4th Base got the leg.
“I got one myth that says he got drunk here one day and left his leg and never came back to get it,” said manager, CJ Papara.
Papara also said the owners were friends with a mortician and Kuenn had multiple fake legs, so the mortician offered them one. Management said the leg is a good luck charm.
So far in 2018, the Brewers are 2-0 in the postseason.
