Dairyland Talk unleashes episode No. 3 as two writers review the successful year the Milwaukee Brewers had.
In this episode of Dairyland Talk, Mike Wendlandt and Sam Brahm talk about the Milwaukee Brewers 2018 season. The two go over players, memories and what the team could look like going into next season.
To start it off, it’s a year in review. The conversation is about how special this season was and how entertaining it all turned out to be. From players like Lorenzo Cain, Christian Yelich and Jesus Aguilar becoming big stars for the crew, to winning the division in game 163. The two talk about how this 2018 team is one to remember.
Next, the two go over the roster, position by position. They talk about the depth the team has going into 2019 and possibly some possible things that could happen for this team. For example, signing back Mike Moustakas, Junior Guerra going into the bullpen and possible starting five for the Crew.
Then, the conversation goes into possible bounce backs. The two talk about Jonathan Schoop, and opinions on if he should be tendered or non tendered after a horrific season with the Orioles and the Brewers. They also talk about Jimmy Nelson, and what he could do coming off a season ending injury in 2017 after sliding into first base.
The conversation then goes into how the future is very bright for the team. Keston Hiura is tearing it up in the Arizona Fall League. Young guys like Brandon Woodruff, Freddy Peralta and Corbin Burnes have shown they belong in the MLB. And there are young guys like Jacob Nottingham and Mauricio Dubon that can make a big impact if he gets some opportunities.
Last, they go over how special this season was and how the Brewers to making some magic in 2019 and beyond. With the talent of the Brewers and the talent of their competitors, it will be entertaining come this spring.
